The Maxxis DTH tyre — standing for Drop The Hammer — is a BMX Race classic, originally developed for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. This 20x1-1/8" version is the narrowest and lightest in the entire range, weighing just 262 g: the choice for riders looking to minimise rotating mass as much as possible on a 451 Race build.
Please note, essential compatibility detail: this tyre is 28-451 and does not fit 406 rims, the classic 20-inch standard. Check your rim diameter before ordering.
Its extra-narrow profile and grooved slick tread make it the fastest tyre in the family on hardpack surfaces, while SilkWorm technology — an exclusive layer embedded in the casing — preserves puncture resistance despite the low weight. It accepts up to 85 PSI (5.8 bar), 20 PSI more than the 1-3/8" version, allowing for even greater rolling efficiency. 120 TPI casing, dual-compound rubber, wire bead.
