The MICROSHIFT SWORD BLACK RD-G7920L rear derailleur is the long-cage version in the affordable SWORD BLACK gravel range. Its 44-tooth capacity is the highest in the range, easily accommodating the difference between two chainrings alongside a wide-range cassette.
Like the rest of the BLACK groupset, it prioritises simplicity: steel cage plates, robust mechanics and straightforward adjustment. It shares the SWORD range’s cable pull, making it compatible with SWORD, SWORD BLACK, ADVENT and ADVENT X shifters — a real advantage when upgrading a bike one part at a time.
Long cage or medium cage? The long cage (44-tooth capacity, 38-tooth maximum sprocket) is designed for double-chainring setups. The medium-cage RD-G7900M (37-tooth capacity, 48-tooth maximum sprocket) is designed for single-chainring setups with a large cassette.
Does it have a clutch? No. For very rough trails, the SWORD RD-G7025L version has one.
