The KOM Cycling Bike Rack Radar Mount is a technical mount designed for touring cyclists, bike commuters, and bikepacking enthusiasts. When you load the back of your bike with panniers, a basket, or a bulky rack bag, your seatpost and seat rails become completely hidden. Mounting your radar or taillight in this location blocks the sensors and compromises safety.

This mount permanently solves this problem by relocating your device’s mounting point directly to the rear plate of your rack (which is typically designed for reflectors or fixed lights). Made from a lightweight yet sturdy composite material, it screws securely into the standard mounting holes on your rack and features the essential quarter-turn interface for clipping your radar into place, perfectly aligned with the road.

Is it compatible with the larger Garmin Varia RCT715 radar-camera? Yes, the mount uses the standard quarter-turn interface. However, since the RCT715 model is heavier and longer than a standard Varia due to its built-in camera, make sure your rack’s mounting plate is sufficiently rigid to prevent excessive vibrations, and that there is enough vertical space beneath the mount.

Will my travel panniers block the radar once it’s installed? That’s the whole point of this product. By mounting the bracket on the very back of the luggage rack, the radar is positioned beyond the area occupied by your side panniers. Your belongings remain well protected, and your radar retains its 180° field of view to detect vehicles.

Are the mounting hardware included to install it on the bike rack? Yes, KOM Cycling generally provides the necessary mounting hardware (screws and nuts) to attach the mount to the standard rear bracket of your rack. Installation takes only a few minutes with basic tools.
