Highlights
- Just 336 g: the aluminium spider saves over 100 g compared with the all-steel version with identical sprocket sizes.
- Close-ratio 11-38 gearing: smaller jumps between sprockets help maintain cadence on the flat and gentle inclines, in the spirit of a double-chainring drivetrain.
- Aluminium spider: spreads pedalling forces across the freehub body, preventing gouging.
- Satin nickel finish: corrosion protection and smoother chain movement.
- Standard Shimano HG freehub: no need to buy a dedicated hub.
Description
The MICROSHIFT SWORD CS-G105 10-speed cassette is the lightweight cassette for the SWORD 2x gravel drivetrain. Its close-ratio 11-38-tooth gearing favours smooth transitions: on the flat and gentle, fast-rolling inclines, cadence stays steady from one sprocket to the next.
The G-Series stands out for its aluminium spider and mix of steel and aluminium sprockets: at just 336 g, it weighs over 100 g less than the all-steel version and distributes forces more evenly across the freehub body. The satin nickel finish protects against corrosion and helps the chain move more smoothly.
What wheel does it fit? One with a standard Shimano HG freehub, the most common type on the market. No dedicated XD or Micro Spline hub is needed.
G-Series or H-Series? The sprocket sizes are identical. The G-Series is the lighter version (aluminium spider, 336 g); the H-Series is all-steel, heavier but more durable and more affordable.
