The tire sidewalls are perfectly stabilized, preventing the tire from flexing or deforming under heavy load in corners. What’s the difference between this M 502 and the XM 481? They share the same 30 mm internal width but differ in their manufacturing methods. The XM 481 is part of the premium line: it uses a high-end welded joint (SBWT) and PHR reinforcement washers, making it about 45 g lighter and more resistant to very heavy impacts (ASTM Category 4). The M 502 uses apin joint: it’s slightly heavier, but it offers exactly the same dynamic advantages in terms of width and tire profile at a significantly more affordable price.
