The DT Swiss XMC 320rim is a high-end bare carbon rim designed for all-mountain riding and aggressive trail riding. What is the main difference between this XMC 320 and the Cross-Country XRC 310? Although they share the same 30 mm internal width and high-end carbon DNA, their internal structures differ. The XRC 310 is optimized for absolute lightness in XC (ASTM Category 3). The XMC 320 features reinforced carbon layup in strategic areas to meet ASTM Category 4 standards. It’s designed to withstand higher jumps (up to 1.20 m) and much rougher mountain descents, at the cost of a few extra grams—a trade-off fully justified by its durability.

Which tires should you use on this rim? The hookless profile requires the use of Tubeless Ready or Tubeless-certified tires (whose beads do not stretch under pressure). With 30 mm between the sidewalls, opt for tire widths of 2.40 to 2.50, which will allow you to run lower tire pressure for exceptional comfort and maximum grip without any risk of the tire coming off the rim.

Is it suitable for mounting on an e-MTB (E-Bike)? Yes, absolutely. DT Swiss certifies the XMC 320 rim for a total weight of 120 kg and approves it for the stresses of electric-assist bicycles. Its high lateral stiffness is an excellent asset for withstanding the torque of the motors and the weight of the batteries during hard cornering.
