GoPro extension for KOM Cycling bike rack

The KOM Cycling GoPro Extender Link is a small, high-strength composite extension piece designed to provide more flexibility and space for your bike accessories. If you use a “Combo” computer mount (which holds the computer on top and a camera or light underneath), you’ve probably already noticed that some larger lights or cameras don’t have enough clearance and end up bumping against your handlebars or brake cables.

This adapter solves the problem by extending the GoPro-style mounting point (three-pin/two-pin). It allows you to lower and slightly offset your equipment to create more space, giving you the freedom to optimally adjust your camera’s angle or your light’s beam without any interference.

Doesn’t this extension add vibrations to the footage when filming while mountain biking or on gravel? The composite material used by KOM Cycling is particularly rigid to minimize this effect. However, any extension slightly increases the lever arm. On roads and classic gravel trails, the internal stabilization of modern cameras (such as GoPro Hypersmooth) perfectly smooths out micro-vibrations. For very rough mountain biking, be sure to tighten the mounting screw securely.

Can it be used to mount a large headlight under the bike computer? Yes, that’s one of its main uses. Many powerful headlights have a long body that hits the stem when you try to center them under the bike computer. The GoPro Extender Link provides the few millimeters of clearance needed to neatly install your light right in the center of your cockpit.

Is the clamping screw included with the extension? Generally, this type of extension uses the clamping screws already included with your camera or combo mount. Be sure to reuse your original GoPro knurled screws or through-bolts to secure the mount.
