The HOPE TECH 4 EVO V6Ti brake pair – Limited Edition represents the culmination of over twenty years of brake engineering at Hope Technology. A direct successor to the legendary Mono 6Ti launched in 2003, this system completely rethinks the six-piston brake concept to meet the demands of modern mountain biking. Produced in a strictly limited run of 1,000 individually numbered sets, it is aimed at downhill, enduro and e-bike riders seeking uncompromising braking power.
The caliper is CNC-machined from a single piece of aluminium, eliminating the flex associated with the joints found in conventional two-piece calipers. It houses six titanium pistons with a titanium nitride coating: two 16 mm pistons and four 14 mm pistons. They provide a total area of around 1,018 mm², 6% more than the EVO GR4 model. This configuration distributes braking force evenly across a larger contact area.
Radial-mount technology, borrowed from motorcycling, frees the caliper from the dimensional constraints of traditional post mounting. This makes room for six pistons, a larger pad area and improved heat dissipation. A dedicated radial adapter and a +20 mm offset adapter are required for installation.
This system is designed to work with the vented T-Slot rotor, which features a three-piece braking track and internal channels that promote airflow, reducing heat build-up by up to 15% compared with standard floating rotors.
The TECH 4 EVO master cylinder benefits from significant improvements: a new piston, floating head, optimized cam, second guide bushing, and three new levers. These developments deliver smooth, customisable control over braking power. The lever pivot runs on two sealed cartridge bearings, ensuring a smooth and consistent action, while the adjustment dials allow for fine-tuning reach and bite point to suit rider preferences.
The Limited Edition kit includes two numbered calipers, a pair of T-Slot rotors, the adapters, two sets of levers (Standard and Power), three brake pad compounds (Race, All-Conditions and eBike), and a presentation case.
