Description
The Maxxis DTH tyre — standing for Drop The Hammer — is a BMX Race classic, originally developed for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and still a benchmark on fast tracks and hardpack terrain.
Its tread design is based on a grooved slick tread: smooth in the centre to maintain speed on straights and pedalling sections, with pronounced side knobs that deliver grip as soon as you lean into turns. This makes it just as comfortable in Race as it is on a pump track or dirt jumps. The dual-compound rubber (Dual Compound) enhances this balance, combining centre durability with shoulder grip.
This 20x1.75" wire bead version features a 120 TPI casing equipped with EXO protection, which reinforces the sidewalls against abrasion and tears. It accepts up to 110 PSI for exceptionally low rolling resistance on tarmac and hardpack dirt. Claimed weight: 432 g. Fits 406 rims (standard 20-inch).
