Description

Dedicated to aggressive riders, the MAXXIS Minion DHR II 27.5x2.30 DD 3C MaxxTerra Tubeless Ready tire with soft bead is designed forEnduro/Freeride competition on dry to loose terrain.

Completely redesigned, it offers even better performance in acceleration, cornering and braking. For example, the wide side blocks make cornering easier, while the denser central grooved tread provides even greater control. The triple MaxxTerra compound offers an excellent compromise, with better traction and grip than MaxxSpeed and superior performance to MaxxGrip.

This top-of-the-range version is designed for the most demanding competitors, with a double-down casing guaranteeing the robustness and maximum puncture resistance of a DH tire, but at a much lower weight.

Ideal for the rear, it can be combined with the DHF at the front, for incredible efficiency.

Does the job!

"As expected: Versatile, efficient and robust. Good grip whatever the terrain and even in "hard" conditions. Allows you to attempt what previously seemed impossible!"

Front-mounted!

"Mounted at the front with a High Roller II of the same frame at the rear, this combo is downright formidable! And it's not for lack of trying many combinations. At the rear, the Minion DHR II is very hard to pull, but at the front, it's much faster than the DHF with equivalent grip! And it brakes better than the DHF, especially now that I've fitted a 4-piston XT caliper up front, which is impressive! The Double Down carcass makes for heavier tires, but they behave impeccably at very low pressures (1.5-1.6 bar for 80 kg on the bike). I sometimes come up hard on crushed rocks and roots, and these tires are flawless, remaining precise without unpacking. You keep your line and it stays precise! With a High Roller at the rear, they give very good traction (unlike the Maxxis chart, which gives the same score for the DHR and HR! The HG fares much better!) Virtually indestructible, I no longer take a chamber with me, just bits. And finally! Maxxis respects the ETRTO, this DHR II in 2. 30"" is 58 mm while the High Roller II I have on the back, from a later generation, measures 56 mm in 2. 30"". ... (Width of my rims between hooks 27 mm). When the tire specification stickers are small (photo) the ETRTO is correct."

Almost perfect

"Super tire, not very rolling but very good grip in Max Terra rubber, the weight is a little high but the reinforcement pays for itself, the size is a hair under the advertised one, i.e. 56mm wide inflated to 2bar against 58 advertised. For me, it's very satisfactory".

Top enduro tires

"I fitted this tire to my enduro a month ago and I really don't regret my purchase. It's the top enduro tire, admittedly a bit expensive, but terribly efficient. I ride the DH-oriented trails of Grenoble and it holds the road very well, even in 2.30s. For those wondering, I'd advise against mounting Wide Trail on rims that are too thin (below 2.6 internal rim width, as on my Hope Pro 4 enduro) because of the deformations this can cause."
