Description
The RACE FACE Era SL handlebar is designed for cross-country and downcountry riders looking for an exceptionally light, precise and comfortable cockpit. Weighing just 170 g, its UD carbon construction offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio while retaining enough flex to reduce fatigue on rough terrain.
Race Face uses its Goldilocks (GL) Tune design on the Era SL, developed to strike the right balance between stiffness and vertical flex. The handlebar stays responsive during acceleration and climbs while absorbing more vibration and providing greater comfort when the terrain gets tougher.
Another distinctive feature is its reversible Flip To Fit design. The handlebar can be fitted with +6 mm or -6 mm rise, making it easy to adjust cockpit height without changing its overall handling characteristics. In either configuration, its geometry gives a position equivalent to a conventional handlebar with 8° backsweep and 5° upsweep.
At 760 mm wide, it can be cut down to 720 mm to tailor the cockpit to the rider’s build and preferences. Race Face notes, however, that reducing the width increases the handlebar’s perceived stiffness.
The Era SL isn’t limited to XC: Race Face also approves it for downcountry, light trail and e-MTB use, including on bikes with up to 140 mm of travel.
