Description
RampAir represents the next evolution in air spring technology: an intelligent dual-chamber system with a floating piston and higher pressure.
The piston separates the two positive chambers, enabling targeted interaction between them from halfway through the travel. This harmonises the spring curve and significantly improves your suspension's performance.
Achieving a linear, consistent spring curve with air suspension is difficult, as air behaves exponentially when compressed.
As a result, conventional air forks often lack crucial mid-stroke support, i.e. stability in this range.
To compensate for this shortcoming, many manufacturers opt for overly firm compression damping.
As a result, mountain bikers reduce air pressure to maintain sensitive response to small terrain irregularities.
However, due to a lack of mid-stroke support, many tend to use volume spacers to remedy this, which only further increases the curve's excessive progression at the end of the travel.
The result is unbalanced suspension: either you lose sensitivity at the expense of grip and comfort, or you sacrifice control and cornering stability.
RampAir intelligently solves this problem: the system harnesses the natural progression of air to create a linear, controlled spring curve.
You therefore benefit from high-performance suspension throughout its travel: sensitive at the start of the stroke, supportive in the mid-stroke and controlled at the end of the stroke. Pressure in the main and RampAir chambers can be adjusted independently, allowing you to perfectly tailor your suspension to your riding style and the terrain.
