Description

The SCHWALBE Aerothan air chamber is a revolutionary model that achieves superior values in terms of elasticity, weight and puncture resistance.

It's made from a thermoplastic polyester-polyurethane called Aerothane, more robust and resistant than those made from butyl, latex or other plastics. It offers unique tensile strength, exceptional cushioning, resistance to extreme heat (temperatures in excess of 150°C at 78km/h) and maximum wear, and is recyclable.

Aerothan chambers don't burst suddenly, but air escapes slowly in the event of a fault. Even with extremely low air pressure, they retain their shape and handling is stable. Also, assembly is now much easier: the chamber doesn't slip or jam. Finally, save at least 100 g per inner tube compared with conventional models!

too fragile

"nice idea to have an exceptionally light inner tube, but too fragile: already broken before my first ride"

Fragile

"Light air chamber and seems qualitative, unfortunately punctured after a 30 kms ride"

to be avoided

"Like the Tubolito, they are made of polypropylene, as are the Revoloop. No matter how hard you tread, this material clings far too tightly to the tire. And they all end up tearing at the valve. The day a brand comes out with 27.5" latex tubes, I'll definitely switch to mountain bikes. In the meantime, I've given up tubeless after 8 years and am switching back to light butyl tubes. Avoid all these revolutions, it's a waste of money compared to a latex inner tube".
