Fall due to pedals
"A Speedplay pedal user since 2008, I had recently changed my cleats, which are now Wahoo. With these new cleats, a spring broke while I was dancing over a small bump. The foot instantly lost all grip and I fell heavily: fractures of the neck of the femur and the clavicle, a month in rehab. I dismantled the wedge to check and it was very clear that the spring had broken. This would never have happened with a Look or Shimano system. Note that this wasn't the 1st time a spring had broken. It had already happened to me, but on the flat. My foot had just come off, and it was impossible to get home. I had to ask someone to come and get me... . So, as far as I'm concerned, Speedplay/Wahoo pedals are going in the garbage can!"
